This ring is named after the "Summer Triangle" An asterism, is a noticeable pattern of stars, made up of Vega, Altair, and Deneb. These three stars are the brightest in their constellations and are so much brighter than the stars around them that they form a landmark in the sky. The Summer Triangle is familiar to amateur astronomers and marks the beginning of summer.
