A fine silk organza in a beautiful dusty blue with a touch of iridescent purple to the fabric was used to create this stunning halter dress. Taking its cues from the far east, it has an exotic sari feel to it and I love the gold thread used to create the beautiful pattern that runs over its surface and details the waist. During this time period and into the early seventies India held a great fascination as it continued to open to the Western world. Pieces were made specifically for the Western market and these were made of beautiful, traditional silks and organza's that were then crafted into more Western cuts like this dress and jacket. The blue here is a dusty blue with a slightly more purple undertone than how it photoed. The gold medallions through the silk and that heavily band the waist and hem are woven directly into the silk. I love how the dress curves over the bust and around the neck and the back is left bare. Very sexy. Excellent condition
